Dr. Atinuke Uwajeh is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics; Member, Nigerian Medical Association.
Dr. Uwajeh completed medical training in 1989 at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Osun State. On completion of internship and mandatory national service in Nigeria, she proceeded to the United States of America for postgraduate training in Pediatrics at Howard University Hospital in Washington D.C. in 1993.
She was board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in 1996 and maintains the certification to date. She completed a year of fellowship training in Pediatrics Emergency Medicine at the University of Chicago Children’s Hospital (now Comer Children’s Hospital), Chicago, Illinois in 1997.
Dr. Uwajeh practiced in various hospitals and outpatient settings in the United States of America, mainly concentrating on providing excellent affordable care to the underserved population in inner-city Chicago. Her last position in the United States was as an Attending Physician with Advocate Medical Group, one of the largest physician groups in the Illinois-Indiana region.
Dr Uwajeh is registered with the Nigerian Medical and Dental Council, a member of the Nigerian Medical Association, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
She has been a strong advocate for preventive health care since co-establishing Pediatric Partners Hospital in Nigeria in 2011. She has participated in various webinars and seminars in Nigeria as an advocate for best practices and clinical governance.
She holds a certificate in Health Management from the Enterprise Development Center of the Pan Atlantic University, Lekki Lagos, and a Leadership and Management in Health certificate from the University of Washington in the United States. She is also a holder of the Leadership and Management Certificate of the Wharton Business School, Pennsylvania, USA.
Dr. Uwajeh is the founder, and Chief Medical Director of Atlantis Pediatric Hospital.
She is married to Mr. Felix Uwajeh and they are blessed with children.
